Vehicles in German City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Authorities mentioned they were notified by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Approximately 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Officers say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then discovered multiple other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state initial examinations show the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; officials are presently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the community for tips.

A senior official said the incident made him without words and required to be solved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
